What are the responsibilities and job description for the Timber Pre-Sale Forester Trainer - FS ACES Program position at Center for Workforce Inclusion?
The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a Timber Sales Administration Trainer position at the North Kaibab Ranger District within the NFS Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Forest Service (NFS). Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.
Role and Responsibilities: Trains and coaches Forest Service employees performing duties covering the entire array of Timber Sales Administration activities.
Duties include:
- Mentors and advice Timber Sales Administrators and Timber Staff in the process of field inspections of purchaser operations.
- Reviews timber sale statements or accounts prepared by Timber Sales Administrators to ensure sufficiency and accuracy of assessments; advises on activities and methods to make improvements.
- Provides guidance and advice in the review and assessment of timber sale contracts and pre-sale data to determine sufficiency and viability.
- Shadows and reviews work of Timber Sales Administrators as they inspect work for compliance with contract specifications and provisions, prepare service contracts, and ensure contractual obligations are met before recommending sale closure.
- Trains Forest Service employees to conduct timber sales Preparation activities
Qualifications and Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; BA/BS; minimum of 20 yrs relevant experience in related field; ability to coordinate and conduct timber sales preparation duties; knowledge of timber sales preparation including boundary determination Layout, tree marking for various prescriptions; knowledge of logging systems, transportation systems, timber cruising; skills in communication and interpersonal relations; valid driver’s license. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access; ARCVIEW GIS; Timber Information Manager (TIM); Forest Products Financial System (FPFS).
Hours & Compensation: Part-Time position working 25 hours per week @ $50.00 hours per week.
