What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Restorative Coordinator position at Center For Youth?
The Assistant Restorative Coordinator (ARC) is responsible for delivering restorative practices to improve outcomes for youth, staff and families. The ARC will build a sense of community and belonging through the lens of restorative practice and racial justice. The ARC provides restorative circle, mediation, mentoring and de-escalation support to youth as needed. The ARC will also help coordinate and facilitate Bridge to Peace trainings and circles for staff and youth. The ARC will work closely with the Directors at the Center for Youth Services and Youth leaders to create opportunities for Youth voice, Restorative practices and Equity.
Hours are Monday and Friday 9 am - 5 : 30 pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11 am - 7 : 30 pm with flexibility to work occasional Saturdays. Special events or projects may take place during the early evenings and / or on a weekend.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
- Support with the administration, coordination and oversight of programs (on-site)
- Provide ongoing restorative justice trainings to staff members and youth.
- Co-facilitate Restorative Justice training to a cohort of youth.
- Respond to conflicts as they occur in the building with de-escalation support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with funder, agency requirements and program data collection requirements.
- Assist with research and design of services including outcome and impact tracking
- Co-Facilitate restorative practice interventions as needed virtually or in-person.
- Engage community to provide awareness of programs and services at Bridge to Peace Events and 905.
- Develop monthly 797 Newsletter / Communications
- Assist with the hiring, training and supervision of youth leaders, activity coordinators, youth volunteers and special event staff / youth.
