Position Summary:
Community Programs Camp Teaching Artist (Video) position is responsible for planning and leading camp programs that support COCA’s educational curriculum. The Camp Teaching Artist (Video) will lead camps in stop motion animation, iPad movie making, computer animation, special effects and other video topics. The camps are primarily focused on introductory level instruction for elementary school aged students. Teaching artists are asked to commit to at least 4 weeks of camp teaching. COCA Summer Camps in the Community run June 2 through August 1.

- Plan camps with co-teacher and submit course outline form by deadlines
- Arrive in classroom in advance of the start of camp to sufficiently prepare for camp, ready to receive students prior to parent drop off
- Provide high quality arts instruction for assigned camps
- Lead programs by example and model professionalism to students through conduct, attitude, attendance and punctuality
- Develop age and contextually appropriate lesson plans, maintain attendance sheets, support program evaluation, and attend all required meetings and training sessions
- Fulfill number of hours/classes required in specific teaching agreement
- Prepare materials, coordinate and obtain equipment, materials and supplies for classes and programs
- Prepare students for a culminating event on the final day of camp that reflects the goals and process of the program
- Advise students on appropriate class placement through discussion with students and parents as well as placement letters
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/ or Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in video or art education required.
- Two or more years’ experience working with children is required.
- Professional experience working in film/video is preferred.
