Position Overview :
The Marketing & Communications Associate provides social media strategy and content creation for our Marketing & Communications Department, as well as overall support to the Marketing & Communications Manager. Center of Life provides various programming and services to the Hazelwood community, and our Marketing team helps us tell our story and ensure that all our work and offerings are broadcast and understood across various audiences.
The Marketing & Communications Associate will be tasked with ensuring that all Center of Life media and communications are kept up to date with current content highlighting our programs and offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and will be adept at capturing the essence of Center of Life's impact and mission through photos, videos, graphic design, and creative writing.
- Content Capture, Development, and Maintenance
- Document and capture high-quality content (photo, video, testimonials), for use in marketing activities and initiatives for all COL programming, events, performances, etc.
- Develop fliers, graphics, and promotional materials at the request of COL Staff
- Draft creative copy and language for all short-form media communications (captions, print media, website updates) in keeping with COL voice and tone
- Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager in developing story boards for all video and photo projects
- Edit photos and video in Lightroom and Premiere to ensure high quality content is ready for distribution across social media and other digital platforms
- Maintain the organization of a robust library of photos and videos to be used in communication campaigns and efforts
- Communicate regularly with program coordinators to keep abreast of photo and video opportunities and program marketing needs
- Social Media
- Develop engaging, creative, high-quality content for all Center of Life social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.) on a scheduled and consistent basis with diverse and creative posts, stories, events, and content that reflect current Center of Life happenings
- Create a content calendar to plan out the content to post on social media in advance to ensure a consistent stream of content that highlights our impact and our programs
- Engage with the audience by responding to comments and messages on social media to show that the nonprofit is responsive and cares about its audience
- Monitor, measure, and track social media metrics to see which posts are performing well and support Marketing & Communications Manager in adjusting strategy accordingly
- Website Updates
- Update website with appropriate content such as current information about programs, events, recent photos and videos, and blog posts
- Conduct weekly website desktop and mobile review with marketing team, address any issues and revision
- Support and assist Marketing & Communications Manager with the implementation of website design changes and revisions
- Support COL Marketing & Communications Department
- Provide marketing support and presence at all COL Events, including providing signage, tabling, COL informational materials and merchandise, in addition to documenting the event
- Support the Marketing & Communications Manager in advancing the overall marketing and communication strategy
- Provide support for initiatives and special projects of Center of Life (i.e. Annual Reports, Website Re-designs, Branding Initiatives, etc) with a focus on the development of high-quality content, photo, video, and print media
- Adhere to and support the implementation of all Marketing & Communications Standards of Practice and review processes
- General Center of Life Expectations :
- Participate as an active member of Center of Life staff
- Adhere to all Center of Life's policies and procedures
- Maintain regular / programming office hours
- Attend COL staff meetings
- Meet bi-weekly with Immediate Supervisor
- Adhere to the security, accuracy and operability of the daily communication and program reporting needs of COL.
- Contribute to the development of a supportive and collaborative work environment.
