Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional front desk support while assisting with various medical tasks. Your primary focus will be to ensure a smooth patient experience from the moment they enter our facility until their departure. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and excellent administrative skills.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries.
- Verify insurance information and assist patients with insurance-related questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks, including documentation review and preparation of medical charts.
- Utilize 10 key typing skills for data entry tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish when necessary.
- Familiarize yourself with dental terminology to assist in related inquiries or procedures when applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and administrative procedures.
- Proficient in insurance verification processes and documentation review.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer systems and office software applications relevant to healthcare administration.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable but not mandatory.
