Center Point Church in North Richland Hills, TX is receiving applications for part-time Accountant or Bookkeeper. CPC is a 26-year old church founded by our current Senior and Founding Pastor, Jay Bruner. CPC is an Elder & Senior Pastor-led church supported by 21 staff members who serve as pastors, administrative employees, and assistants. CPC has a Sunday attendance of more than 700 people and is significantly involved in our local schools and community.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Qualifications:
- Training or education in the field of accounting (CPA licensure not required).
- Job experience in part-time or full-time accounting of at least 3 years.
- Familiarity with or the ability to learn Community Church Builder, PushPay donation processing, and preparing financial reports via QuickBooks.
- Payroll processing experience.
- A follower of Jesus Christ and agreement with the beliefs of CPC. Membership at CPC is not required.
Job Responsibilities:
Offering Reconciliation & Donor Records
- Record weekly offerings in Community Church Builder to include online giving, checks and cash, etc.
- Provide written Sunday offering reports with the types and amounts of giving currency provided by and signed by volunteers.
Weekly Elder and Board Report
- Prepare the Tuesday report, Center Point at a Glance, which includes a weekly and accumulative summary of the General Fund, building fund donations, and miscellaneous offerings. The Executive Pastor/Operations will review the report and distribute it to the Elders, and Church Board.
- Maintain the accuracy of this accumulative report for monthly Board and Elder meetings.
Accounts Payable
- Review invoices, bills, accounts due, and check requests submitted by staff on Tuesdays.
- Prepare checks by Thursdays 11am for signing by church-approved volunteers. Assure that Executive Pastor/Operations has reviewed all invoices prior to the signing or distributing of checks.
- Assure that all checks to individuals and checks $500 and above receive two volunteer signatures. Record the payment of invoice amounts paid into the proper budgeted account.
Giving Records
- Record all donations via CCB/Pushpay from families or individuals. Average 450 records (70% online).
- Provide giving profiles, i.e. number of giving families, frequency, etc. as requested.
- Provide federal tax donor contribution records for distribution in January each year.
Monthly Reports
- At the request of the Executive Pastor/Operations, prepare accurate monthly reports for the Board and Elders to include Assets & Liabilities, Budget vs. Actual, Designated Fund activity, a customized Cash Flow annual comparison, Kidz City Learning Center monthly reports, etc.
- Maintain accurate reports of accumulative offerings to the Building Fund and ongoing expenses.
- Kidz City Learning Center (Weekday Preschool)- receive/record tuition via online from estimated 75 families. Provide monthly budget reports.
- Maintain the payroll for all salaried and hourly employees and HRA and retirement benefits.
Employee Compensation & Tax Records
- Coordinate/oversee the preparation of W-2 Federal Tax Forms, quarterly 941 Tax Forms, etc. with our contracted accounting firm, McBee & Company and use Quickbooks Payroll for 21 church employees, and 21 Kidz City Learning Center employees.
Work Hours: Minimum two weekly trips (M & Th) to the office of approx. two hours each & remote work is estimated at 20-25 hours weekly.
Direct Report: Dr. David Sylvester, Executive Pastor/Operations.
