Job Title : Billing Specialist
Location : 2403 Professional Dr, Santa Rosa, CA (In-person)
Pay Rate : $30.00 - $32.00 / hour (non-exempt)
Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours / week
Reports to : RVP
Job Summary :

As a Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for our services, supporting our continued commitment to providing high-quality care.
Duties :
- Process medical claims for insurance reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, private payers)
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims
- Follow up on claim status and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and billing guidelines
- Provide support and guidance to clinical staff on billing-related matters, including charting requirements
- Assist employees with billing questions and concerns, providing training and support as needed
- Develop and maintain expertise in electronic health records (EHRs) and billing software
- Utilize Excel and spreadsheets to analyze data, track trends, and identify areas for improvement
- Prepare and submit weekly billing reports to the Regional Vice President (RVP), including key performance indicators
Qualifications :
- 2 years of experience in medical billing
- Knowledge of coding systems
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and billing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Physical / Mental Requirements :
- Ability to work in an office setting, using a computer and phone for extended periods
- Be seated for long periods of time (up to 8 hours / day)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Effective stress management and adaptability
- Ability to focus and concentrate in a fast-paced environment
