Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Post Secondary Training preferred.
Department: Maintenance/Custodians.
Direct Supervisor: Assistant Director of Operations
Primary Work Location: Facilities & Maintenance setting. (Schools and Warehouse)
Certification: Valid Driver’s license
Job Summary: The job of Maintenance Technician is done for the purpose/s of assisting the district to ensure that assigned work orders are executed appropriately; that systems and equipment are maintained and repaired efficiently. The position will provide quality service to provide a safe and comfortable learning atmosphere.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential duties:
· Analyze the needs of the department for the purpose of making recommendations for purchasing materials, supplies and equipment.
· Utilize district B.A.S. system to trouble shoot and repair HVAC systems.
· Attending district and department meetings when needed for the purpose of identifying issues, giving recommendations.
· Conduct routine and periodic inspections of all District buildings for the purpose of ensuring safety and efficient operations.
· Participate in continuing program and in-service training. (i.e. safety awareness and personnel development, etc.) for the purpose of obtaining any new pertinent info.
· Repair various equipment (i.e. scrubbers, mowers, HVAC equipment, plumbing, and electrical)
· Assist with snow removal, plowing, salting and shoveling. Repair of equipment.
· Complete preventative maintenance schedules.
· Coordinate and complete daily work orders.
· Evaluate district equipment and property while in the field to determine improvements needed.
· Requisitions for equipment, supplies, and materials needed to complete jobs efficiently.
· Participate in and assist with delivery of information at department meetings.
· Assist in fire inspections and perform compliance repairs.
· Perform related work as assigned
