Center School is a in Abington, PA, with a successful 35-year track record of providing children who have learning disabilities with a personalized education to identify strengths, challenges, and build confidence. Center School’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Program provides students in grades 1-8 with academic and recreational opportunities to develop and maintain skills, practice effective learning strategies and increase abilities in a warm, welcoming and fun-filled environment.
Center School is seeking a licensed nurse to provide medical care to students during designated hours. The nurse also provides expertise and oversight of school health services as it relates to the summer program.
Center School’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Program will run from Monday, July 7, 2025 through August 1, 2025. Nurse’s hours are 10:30-3:00 Monday through Friday. This is an hourly position and is not benefits-eligible.

Qualifications:
- Certification as a Licensed Practical, Vocational, or Registered Nurse
- Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision
- Minimum 1 to 3 years prior nursing experience is preferred
- Possess basic competency with basic word processing, spreadsheets, and internet applications
- Adhere to strict confidentiality with all student and employee medical information
- Ability to communicate successfully with all constituents in a school environment, including students, faculty and parents both verbally and written
- Possess excellent organizational skills
Oversight and responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain records of all summer student emergency medical information; comply with HIPAA confidentiality regulations
- Administer medications and provide medical care to students in accordance with physician's orders
- Respond to emergency medical situations; perform first aid and/or emergency treatments as required; coordinate with local emergency personnel and agencies as needed
- Document and follow up on all student accidents and injuries; notify parents; coordinate with emergency services, hospitals and doctors, as needed
- Coordinate and communicate with students, parents, administrators and teachers any special medical conditions and or limitations and health care needs; i.e. asthma, diabetes, allergic reactions (food, drug) and post injury restrictions, while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School
