GENERAL PURPOSE: As the Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, your mission will be to strategically drive and secure capital solutions that fuel CenterCal's ambitious growth plans, while optimizing the company’s financial structure to enhance value creation across the portfolio.

1. Capital Strategy and Structuring
- Within your first 90 days, assess CenterCal’s existing capital structure, identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Within six months, develop and present a strategic plan to diversify funding sources, balancing equity and debt to support growth goals while mitigating risk.
- Lead the structuring and negotiation of complex joint venture agreements, ensuring alignment with CenterCal’s long-term financial objectives.
- Create strategic plan to address the company’s capital needs focused on opportunities for a fund, programmatic joint ventures or one-off projects.
2. Capital Sourcing and Relationship Management
- Build and strengthen relationships with institutional investors, private equity funds, family offices, high net worth partners, and lending partners to ensure a robust pipeline of capital.
- Secure $XXX million in new capital commitments within the first 12 months, enabling the execution of key development projects.
- Represent CenterCal at industry events to position the company as a premier investment partner.
- Be key contact with equity partners at the executive level to ensure that our teams are exceeding expectations at the property and deal level.
3. Transaction Execution
- Oversee the underwriting, due diligence, and closing of capital transactions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Successfully close at least three major financing transactions, totaling $XXX million, within the first 18 months.
4. Market Intelligence and Risk Mitigation
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of capital market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and their implications for CenterCal’s portfolio.
- Implement a quarterly reporting process to the executive team on capital market risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CAO to create contingency plans for varying market scenarios to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing capital markets team, instilling a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Partner closely with development, leasing, and asset management teams to align capital strategies with project and portfolio objectives.
- Foster collaboration across departments to enhance decision-making and project execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
Experience and Qualifications
- 15 years of progressive experience in real estate finance, investment banking, or related capital markets roles.
- Deep expertise in structuring equity and debt for mixed-use, retail, or residential real estate projects.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale capital raises, exceeding $200 million annually.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred; CFA or similar certifications a plus.
