The ideal candidate for this CAD Platting Technician role should possess a combination of technical expertise, project experience, and the ability to immediately contribute to the team's success.
Key Qualities and Skills :
Technical Proficiency : Advanced skills in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Familiarity with MicroStation is a bonus.
Competence in platting, mapping, and drafting technical drawings such as plats, boundary surveys, easement plats, and right-of-way plans.
Project Experience : At least 2-3 years of experience in a platting or land development role, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality CAD work on land development and civil engineering projects. Experience working on land development, subdivisions, and infrastructure projects.
Attention to Detail : A meticulous approach to ensuring accuracy in technical drawings, data interpretation, and compliance with client and regulatory standards.
Collaborative Mindset : Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers, surveyors, and project managers. A proactive approach to resolving design issues or accommodating changes.
Problem-Solving and Adaptability : Ability to identify and resolve drafting, platting, or design issues independently, ensuring smooth project execution.
Time Management and Organization : Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and organized CAD files with proper version control.
Preferred Background :
An Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, or a related field.
Candidates with land development and civil engineering project exposure, and familiarity with tools like Civil 3D, will have an edge.
