- Determines priorities and coordinates the work with other departments and/or contractors to assure that prompt resolution of any situation or issue is in accordance with company specifications and safety rules.
- Receives Regulator Inspection maintenance work orders monthly.
- Schedules, assigns and verifies that Regulator Inspection maintenance plans are in compliance using Dispatch Application and SAP.
- Assigns employees to test meters in accordance with operating standards and federal/state regulations.
- Inspects work completed by Company crews or contractors' crews to confirm that the work was done in accordance with operating standards and federal/state regulations. Assures that gas carrying facilities (such as main, services, meter stations, etc.) meets the company’s standards for quality and specifications.
- Reviews daily work order assignments for balance and proper utilization of employees.
- Communicates tasks and plans to the crew either through tail-gate sessions or individually to ensure that each crew member is informed of expectations. Clarifies tasks and plans so that each employee knows what is expected.
- Trains and coach’s employees on sound measurement methods and work practices.
- Communicates with internal and external customers when responding to concerns about difficult service problems and/or customer complaints.
- Motivate, develop, coach, and discipline employees.
- Determines and assures that necessary materials and supplies are available to complete work orders. Maintains controlled materials and issues adequate supply of work materials.
- Investigates workplace accidents, vehicular accidents, on-the-job injuries and instances involving general public liability and/or property damage.
- Compiles data, keeps current documentation and prepares periodic surveys and reports, cost estimates and updates plant facilities records.
- Advises employees on raising or lowering the set pressures on regulator stations.
- Assures proper odorization in system and conducts odorometer tests periodically and after a fire or explosion.
- Assures good housekeeping of company properties (including buildings, grounds, city gates, regulator stations, transportation equipment) through inspection and instigates correction of any unacceptable conditions or hazards that exist.
- Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Code, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses.
- Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company’s values and business practices.
- Ensure compliance with corporate capitalization and budgeting procedures.
- Available on a 24/7 basis to respond to field emergencies and implement emergency response procedures as necessary.
- Required to participate in CenterPoint Energy's Emergency Operation Plan (EOP).
- Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT safety sensitive positions.
- Able to work indoors in an office environment and outdoors with occasional exposure to all weather conditions, equipment, and noise when at field installation sites.
- Able to work regular hours, with occasional or mandatory overtime; may be required to work rotating shifts.
- Able to respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return to work while off duty.
- Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion.
