Kitchen Staff

Centerpointe Academy is seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen/Cook to join our team. As a Kitchen/Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handlers certificate.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare the food for breakfast, am/pm snack, and lunch for a daycare center
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Assist in shopping for food and labeling these properly
- Collaborate with the Director of the center to ensure timely preparation (meal planning following USDA recommendations) and delivery of meals to the classrooms

Assist in planning of menu with Director
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations.

Skills:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred/but not required
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food handling procedures-must obtain certificate
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, such as knives, mixers, and ovens
- Ability to work efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

Expected hours: 35/40 hours per week
