To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing, monitoring, implementing, and/or evaluating policies related to public health programs from multiple sectors at the community, state, national and/or international levels.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:- Develop reports or presentations and performs a variety of analytic duties involving public health and other program issues that contain complicating elements.
- Propose public health program and other changes necessary to respond to changes in policy.
- Identify policy needs (e.g. legislation) and coordinates the preparation of strategies and proposals in response to those needs.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with other organizational units including other Federal agencies and quasi-governmental groups and other key partners including national and international organizations.
- Serve as a point of contact for information about public health program evaluation activities.
- Analyze and/or identify specific concerns or conditions of relevance and importance to the mission and activities of the organization.
- Apply sound planning and evaluation concepts and practices and recommend meaningful changes that result in improvements of the national impact of the organization.
- Apply knowledge of public health principles to the identification of strategic programmatic and scientific areas in need of strengthening as well as new areas for program development.
