Position Summary

The Procedure Coordinator provides timely and efficient communication between patients, CFG clinical staff, providers, hospitals, and outpatient surgery centers. Our patients can be scheduled at the following locations: Northern Colorado Endoscopy Center (NCEC), Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH), Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR), McKee, Greeley Hospital (GRH), Skyline Endoscopy Center, and Harmony Surgery Center (HASC).

The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, a can-do attitude, resiliency, flexibility, the ability to see the big picture, and strong commitment to following through with patient needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Facilitate and manage clinical communications between CFG and Surgery Centers.
  • Place orders for recommended procedures after provider reviews referral; and communicate scheduling needs with procedure scheduling team.
  • Contact patients scheduled for procedures screening questionnaire.
  • Coordinate necessary blood thinner holds and communicate the information to both patients and prescribing physicians.
  • Answer patients’ procedure prep questions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education

  • Must have a current Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential and graduated from an accredited school for Medical Assisting.
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Current CPR/BLS

Preferred Competencies

  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
  • At least 2 years of experience in a clinic setting
  • Previous GI experience is a bonus

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend or sit for extended periods of time.

Physical demands:

  • Walking 30%- assisting patients, delivering information to other departments.
  • Sitting 70%- entering data into the computer system; answering the telephone.
  • Ability to speak clearly to be understood by employees and patients.
  • Ability to hear within normal range even with a noisy desk work area.
  • Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters, and to distinguish colors.
  • Works in a well-lit heated/air-conditioned environment.
  • Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
  • Must be able to drive between facilities.
  • May have to assist patients which would involve lifting to 50 lbs

Pay: $19.75 - $24.31 per hour
