Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as a Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomist. The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing patients, preparing them for blood draws, and ensuring accurate labeling and recording of blood specimens.
Responsibilities
- Accurately identify patients using wristbands, documents, or visual identification.
- Assemble supplies and equipment required for specimen collection, following established standards and procedures.
- Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health, and other factors.
- Reassure patients and help them relax during the blood draw process.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred, or completion of a hospital or major lab training program.
- Understanding of standard blood drawing practices and procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
