Job Requirements
The Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is seeking a highly skilled Patient Blood Sample Collector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately identifying patients, assembling equipment, prioritizing tasks, selecting the most suitable venipuncture method, providing reassurance to patients, locating veins suitable for puncture, drawing blood samples using proper equipment and techniques, ensuring safe handling and disposal of sharps, needles, and medical waste, following proper test tube order of draw, labeling tubes correctly, using appropriate personal protective equipment, collecting high-quality samples, monitoring patients for reactions and equipment malfunctions, educating patients on aftercare procedures, maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, and processing COVID-19 tests if trained to do so. We require a minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a phlebotomist, excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities, ability to work flexible schedules, tight adherence to safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals, knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques, valid State-issued driver's license with a good driving record, adequate automobile insurance, and vehicles in good condition.
