The Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to work weekdays from 8 AM to 7 PM in our laboratory located in Eatontown, NJ. The ideal candidate will possess 2 years of prior experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify patients using visual identification or documentation.
- Assemble necessary equipment and supplies for specimen collection according to established standards and procedures.
- Prioritize tasks based on patient needs, such as Stat, timed, or routine specimens.
- Select the most suitable venipuncture method for each patient.
- Provide reassurance and help patients relax before blood draws.
- Draw blood samples using proper equipment and techniques.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of sharps, needles, and medical waste.
- Follow proper test tube order of draw and label tubes correctly.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collect high-quality samples for testing and deliver them promptly.
- Monitor patients for reactions and equipment malfunctions.
- Educate patients on aftercare procedures.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
- Process COVID-19 tests if trained to do so.
- Attend company meetings and training programs as required.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred, but not required (candidates without certificate must have completed a hospital or major lab training program).
- Understanding of standard blood drawing practices and procedures.
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a phlebotomist.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
- Able to work flexible schedules, including nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Tight adherence to safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques.
- Valid State-issued driver's license with a good driving record.
- Adequate automobile insurance.
- Vehicles in good condition.
