What's in it for you?

The base salary for this position is expected to be at $75,000 - $95,000/year plus annual bonus, with the actual base salary amount dependent on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's credentials, relevant experience, and primary job location, with consideration given to internal equity.

Summary

Centerspace is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our FP&A Team. This individual will be responsible for providing key financial and operational reporting and analysis, leading budgeting and forecasting initiatives, annual operating plan analysis and treasury management with exposure to senior leadership team. As a self-motivated Financial Analyst, you will work independently with guidance given. Your role involves prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, interpreting financial data, and maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational and analytical skills are required.

Expectations

Generally given guidance and parameters, but expected to work independently. Self-directed and self-motivated. Able to prioritize, set and meet deadlines. Requires the ability to understand and interpret relevant financial data and recognize inconsistencies. Requires high attention to detail, organizational ability, and analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Analyze financial and operational data to provide insights for decision-making
• Develop and analyze reports on key operating metrics in collaboration with team members
• Support forecasting, budgeting processes, and the design of business intelligence reporting tools
• Provide sophisticated reporting to senior management based on extensive knowledge of financial systems and company operations
• Manage relationships with financial partners, assist in new debt procurement, and ensure compliance
• Conduct treasury forecasting and modeling, overseeing cash management strategy.
• Support insurance underwriting, broker relationships, and analysis of insurance program coverage
• Collaborate with operations leadership to enhance financial management practices
• Make recommendations for financial efficiencies and data accuracy.
• Participate in month and quarter-end activities in partnership with accounting
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners

Travel
Some travel may be required, up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience – 2-5 years experience in finance, accounting, or other related work. Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting or other business related field is required.
• Licenses or Certifications - Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred.
• Physical Demands – While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
• Work Environment – The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and lenders.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, rate risk, linear regression, and stock market trends. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Financial Skills – Working knowledge of the time value of money, discounted cash flows, loan amortization, internal rate of return, capitalization rate, return on equity calculations and finance terminology. Deep knowledge of investment terms, accounting principles and ability to assess financial performance
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, with the ability to work efficiently in Microsoft Outlook. Advanced ability in Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel) and/or statistical software is required. Employee will be expected to design professional spreadsheets, evaluate the validity of data, and design/use formulas, pivot tables, tables, charts and other advanced functions. Software usage includes Microsoft Office, (Excel, Power Point, and Word); Acrobat Reader (ADOBE PDF); PowerBI
