Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Impact Coach will provide linkage and follow-up in the office and community settings to develop trusting relationships with clients. Engage with clients so that they may more freely discuss substance use and its effects on mental and physical health and daily functioning. Aid clients in setting their own goals for treatment, as well as plans to reduce or abstain from substance use and to learn healthy coping skills. Build rapport and a therapeutic relationship with clients to introduce them to all the elements of a healthy recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Education Level
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred. Experience working and/or volunteering within the behavioral health, criminal justice, or social services field can be considered in place of degree.
Years Of Experience
A desire to help individuals with a substance use/ co-occurring disorder and an understanding of addiction and recovery is required. Personal experience with recovery from substances is helpful but not required.

- Facilitates client’s use of family, social and community resources, acting as an advocate with external resources and agencies and self-help programs.
- Connect to resources including but not limited to individual, group and family counseling covering psycho-educational, addictions, daily living skills and activity therapy.
- Maintain necessary communications and reporting with referral sources and other involved parties as approved by the client.
- Meet all grant requirements including enrollments and community linkage
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
