HR Generalist

About Us:

We are a growing auto title company with over 30 employees across two locations in Austin. Our company prides itself on delivering white-glove DMV services to retail customers, auto dealers, and large enterprise clients. As our team expands, we are seeking an HR Generalist to join us and provide essential support throughout the employee lifecycle.

Job Overview:

The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting our managers and executive team by handling day-to-day HR functions and administrative tasks. This role is designed for someone who is eager to grow and take on increasing responsibility over time. The HR Generalist will focus initially on time-intensive tasks such as recruiting, onboarding, and employee record management, gradually expanding to support employee relations, performance management, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruitment & Onboarding
• Assist in drafting job descriptions and posting positions on job boards.
• Screen resumes, schedule interviews, and facilitate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
• Prepare offer letters, coordinate pre-employment checks, and manage new hire paperwork.
• Organize and conduct new hire orientations and onboarding sessions.
• Employee Records & Benefits Administration:
• Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
• Administer benefits enrollment, track eligibility, and respond to employee inquiries.
• Support payroll processing by coordinating employee information with the finance team.
• Employee Relations
• Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
• Support managers in handling employee issues and escalate complex cases as needed.
• Assist in drafting performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions under the guidance of leadership.
• Training & Development:
• Coordinate training schedules, track completion, and gather feedback from employees.
• Assist in identifying employee development needs and recommend training programs.
• Compliance & Policy Management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Assist in maintaining and updating employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
• Track and manage employee leave (FMLA, PTO, etc.).
• Offboarding
• Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and return of company property.
• Process termination paperwork and coordinate final paychecks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
• 1-3 years of experience in an HR or administrative role (internship or part-time experience acceptable).
• Familiarity with HR software, ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and Google Workspace/Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

• PHR or SHRM-CP certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience in a multi-location or service-based company.
• Knowledge of Texas employment laws.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $880.00 - $1,000.00 per week
