Summary: The Research Specialist is responsible for conducting research on account transactions, making corrections on transactional errors, and completing correspondence related to such corrections. The individual will respond to inquiries from housing, governmental, and other agencies, verifying deposit accounts and addresses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage inflow of CRM Case/Workflow requests, faxes, emails to multiple inboxes, incoming USPS mail, and phone calls, ensuring proper prioritization of requests and coordination of work with a team of individual contributors
- Provide copies of requested documents as detailed in Research requests submitted from various sources, ensuring proper authorization for any requests provided directly to clients.
- Complete corrections for checks or deposits posted to incorrect account numbers. This may include extensive research to determine the appropriate account to be debited or credited.
- Complete corrections for checks or deposits posted for incorrect amounts, ensuring proper credit/debit, forwarding relevant information to Items Processing for subsequent adjustments
- Conduct investigations on ATM Deposit Error claims in compliance with Reg E, reviewing the claim, ATM transaction log and ATM balancing records to determine the validity of claims. Complete all client notification as required by Reg E.
- Respond to various inquiries related to account activity – researching missing activity by reviewing teller journals, transaction logs, and other source documents as required by each scenario
- Review and respond, as appropriate, to account information requests from Social Security and Indiana Health Coverage Programs
- Review and respond, as appropriate, to account information requests from other social service agencies, housing agencies, and various lenders, evaluating each request for proper authorization and titling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel, Windows Explorer, and Web-based applications
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Extensive functional training and flexibility to deadlines and workloads
- Strong Customer Service Skills
- Analytic ability to select methods, compare numbers, or identify appropriate actions to follow
- Efficient time-management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize a variety of tasks
Experience/Education:
- High School diploma/GED
- 1-2 years related experience
Internal Pay Level 6
