Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) that is certified in the state of practice to work in a school setting. This is a contract, full time position.
Duties and Responsibilities Include :
Complete required facility orientation.Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions.Supervise Teacher’s Assistants / Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions.Implement and adhere to IEP / Student Program.Supervise and implement completion of program / student documentation.Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Teacher’s Assistants / Aides.Complete and maintain training requirements.Complete required program documentation / certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).Interact / communicate with parents, college interns, professionals, and other interested visitors.Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.Maintain participant / family confidentiality.Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and / or senior management.Requirements include :
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education along with an NYS certification in at least one of the following areas : Nursery – Grade 6 General Education, Early Childhood (B-2) General Education, Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Special Education (all grades), Students w / Disabilities (B-2), Students w / Disabilities (1-6), or Pre-K – Grade 6 General EducationExperience with Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.Ability to run.Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb items.Clearance through state mandated Background / Fingerprint Check(s).About Centra :
