A great School is looking for an experienced or newly graduated Occupational Therapist Assistant / Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA to join their growing team for a contract assignment! The Occupational Therapist Assistant / Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist Assistant / Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA will aid in the provision of rehabilitative services for people suffering from physical, emotional, mental or developmental impairments. Requirements include : An associate's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Illinois. Has performed at least 3 months of occupational therapy work experience under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational therapist. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, psychology, and rehabilitation principles. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and their families. Empathy, patience, and a student-centered approach to therapy. Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities. Effective communication skills for collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Physical stamina and dexterity to demonstrate exercises and assist students as needed. Knowledge of various assessment tools and therapeutic techniques.
