This resource will have direct responsibility to manage the IT teams that support the *Clinical* electronic health record systems (EHRs) (Oracle Cerner Millennium, Varian, etc) and the associated integrated systems. A high-level knowledge of revenue cycle and financial system integration points is also required.
The Corporate Director Clinical and Patient Financial Applications, IT aligns the organizations vision and mission with IT strategy and guides the evaluation, selection, design, development, implementation, and operations of clinical and patient financial system applications. The position has primary responsibility for the oversight, management, planning, scheduling, coordination of resources, communication between information technology groups and the research, development, and implementation of all assigned applications and integrated systems, which includes (but is not limited to) acute care, outpatient, ambulatory, ancillary and revenue cycle. The position develops and maintains the organization’s Health Information Exchange and interface engines, (core services) and participates with other Information Technology management in the development and execution of overall departmental and organizational plans and objectives.
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in a related area
Required Experience: Five to ten (5-10) years of management experience in a related field
Preferred Experience: Cerner Millennium clinical and revenue cycle system experience. Project Management experience. Healthcare system implementation experience. Technical – able to log on, navigate systems, and make the correlation between system capabilities and operational functionality
Application Architecture Vision and Development
Expected to maintain responsibility for the evaluation of new and existing information technology applications used within the clinical and patient financial business functions
Expected to develop project plans, timelines, adoption, testing, contingency and mitigation plans to minimize risks
Expected to assure collaboration and support for the enterprise to identify opportunities and issues related to the supported applications
Expected to serve as the key liaison to the organization for strategic alignment
Solution Engineering and Support
Expected to have proven success in the support of healthcare software / topologies, as it relates to Clinical, Financial, Interfaces, Data Base Administration, Operating Systems, and Connectivity
Expected to stay current on system capabilities and vulnerabilities, managing upgrade schedules, change control and new system application requests
Expected to ensure system integrity and compliance with information technology standards relative to security, data protection and technology compatibility
Expected to maintain system versions for compliance with Promoting Interoperability certifications and CMS guidelines.

Expected to act as the primary liaison between the organization and information technology application vendors and suppliers performing vendor contracting negotiations, direct supervision and management of consultants, contractors, and onsite vendor representation

Expected to provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services in the department
Expected to provide overall planning, control, organization, and monitoring of services and the employees with the Information Technology applications department
