What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR OF NURSING PACE position at Centra Medical Group?
The Director of Nursing is responsible and accountable for directing professional clinical practice and the clinical care of patients within the Centra PACE model. It is expected that the PACE Director of Nursing leads in a way consistent with Centra Mission and Values. The Director is responsible for safe and quality patient care being delivered in a service-oriented environment and ensures application of the Professional Practice Model.
The Director of Nursing partners with appropriate administrative and physician leadership in the ongoing development of PACE clinical programs and services. This position will support, collaborate, and lead within Centra PACE Service Line Structure to advance quality/safety, service, and financial outcomes.
- Minimum of five years of experience within nursing, at least 2 years in leadership.
- Currently licensed in the state of Virginia as a Registered as a Nurse, or to have licensure prior to start date.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing already obtained OR required to be obtained within 2 years of hire.
- Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or business.
- PACE experience strongly preferred.
- Active member and participant in the Centra PACE Leadership Team.
- Assists PACE Clinic Supervisors with development of training from courses, workshops, seminars, and other learning and development programs.
- Independently provides guidance on best practices, policies, and procedures, and delivers training to clinical staff.
- Collaborates with the Senior Director and/or Human Resources on employee performance, employee relations, investigations, discipline, and other staff needs.
- Develops policies and procedures for clinical teams to implement for continuity across sites.
- Assists PACE clinical staff with establishing quality of care and safety standards.
- Delivers and evaluates competencies annually for all clinical staff
- Tracks and reports all salary and non-salary expenses related to clinical training and education for PACE; collaborates with Site Director to provide financial data for overall PACE Nursing.
- Collaborates with Quality team and stakeholders on PACE-wide clinical projects for clinical care; provides metrics and data to support non-operational projects.
- Monitors staffing needs and patterns and collaborates with Human Resources and Recruiting partners on job postings.
- Recommends changes in service delivery and staffing as required due to the development and growth of the organization.
- Facilitate training or development of a training schedule for new team members in all clinical departments across multiple sites.
- May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specifications can be modified or updated at any time.

This role supervises a team of 7 staff members, some of whom have direct reports.
