What are the responsibilities and job description for the ED Medic-BMH Emergency Room- Full Time Days position at Centra Medical Group?
This is a multi-skilled position requiring a variety of patient care skills and abilities.
Under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse (nurse) or Provider (physician or Advanced Practice Provider) the Emergency Department Medic provides care appropriate to the patient populations served. The ED Medic performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse or provider. ED Medics assist with blood and specimen collection, intravenous access, limited medication administration, splint application, obtaining electrocardiograms and assisting with the use of physiologic monitoring devices.

REQUIRED :
High School Diploma or GED
Completion and certification as a Paramedic in the Commonwealth of Virginia
AHA BLS CPR Completion
PREFERRED :
Relevant patient care experience
