What are the responsibilities and job description for the MANAGER VOLUNTEER SERVICES position at Centra Medical Group?
Responsible for the oversight of Volunteer Programs in all LGH and umbrella locations. The manager ensures volunteer coordinators are following the policies and procedures and regulatory bodies for volunteer programs.
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree
Required Experience: 3 years of supervisory and/or management experience. Working knowledge of all MS Office products
Preferred Experience: Experience in the volunteer sector
Attends all Centra Extended Management meetings.
Collaborates with director to create and implement all policies procedures and methods needed by LGH and PCC volunteers to successfully compete their jobs.
Directly assists director with overall activities of auxiliaries, teens, and Mended Hearts Visitors and records for an additional Mended Heart members.
Interviews potential new volunteers ( annually)
Maintains absenteeism and tardiness reporting by employee and shares this information with staff as appropriate and submits statistics as requested by Director in a timely manner.
Maintains and increases education opportunities and related to position.
Organized special functions i.e. Annual Recognition Luncheon / Fall Gathering / Let Your Love Shine Project.
Participates in interviewing new employees.
Performs rounding to service areas to promote recognition and retention within new and current core of volunteers.
Projects a high level of customer service and continuous positive attitude to departmental staff.
Responsible for complete volunteer orientation for teens and / or adults (twice monthly).
Responsible for near daily updating of information furnished to all information desk volunteers.
Responsible to assist vending manager.
Serves on various committees and attends meetings to improve efficiency and productivity within Centra.
Supervises and maintains competencies on patient contact volunteers.
Works with management team to maintain updates policies and procedures and implement new policies and procedures as needed.
Works with various Centra department to furnish volunteers for new requirements, special projects, and on eleventh hour needs.
Writes, compiles, and distributes newsletter every other month to facilitate communication with all volunteers.
