What are the responsibilities and job description for the Monitor Technician Telemetry full time 7p-7a position at Centra Medical Group?
The Telemetry Technician is responsible for interpreting heart rhythms and reporting changes to the medical staff. Under supervision the Monitor Technician is responsible for the placement and scanning of Holter and event monitors, analysis of ECG rhythms and documentation.
Has responsibilities in both the Telemetry Technician and Virtual Sitter jobs.
Incumbents should have excellent analytical and technical skills, detail oriented, as well as adaptability to change based on evidence-based practice. The patient monitoring team functions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED
Required Experience: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent technical skills for hospital equipment and medical software. Great communication and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred Experience: One (1) year experience as a Monitor Technician
Required Certifications and Licensures: CPR Certification
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: EKG or Monitor Technician National Certification
Observe and interpret patient’s heart rhythm for arrhythmias and cardiac arrest
Recognizing and responding to any abnormal conditions in patient’s heart rhythm
Performing and reporting any changes in heart readings or EKG to medical staff
Updating patient’s medical records with important information related to cardiac rhythms
Performs accurate monitoring of patients related to selected procedures
Cleans and maintains telemetry equipment
Assisting with the training of new staff in medical monitoring systems
Maintains knowledge of technological advances
Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time
