What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapy Assistant - Farmville PACE/Full Time Days position at Centra Medical Group?
This position is responsible for the treatment of patients in the Acute Care and Acute Rehab settings. The COTA provides services within VA Licensure, TJC and CMS guidelines for patient care and billing for services.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
- Current Va COTA licensure or license eligible.
- BLS CPR Certification.
- Completes patient treatment following plan of care/goals set by evaluating Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborates with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and SLP teams to promote interdisciplinary plans of care.
- Collaborates with case management team, nursing, and providers to promote interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Completes documentation that is within Va Licensure, TJC and CMS guidelines.
- Follows Centra Values Completion of mandatory yearly education for employment and to maintain Va licensure.
Other Functions:
- Preceptor to new employees on volunteer basis.
- Clinical instructor to COTA students on volunteer basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Clinically oversees the work of a rehab aide/assistant when they are assisting COTA with patient care.
