What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist Cardiovasc Invasive - LGH Cardiac Cath Lab Days position at Centra Medical Group?
The RCIS is a member of the Cath Lab patient care team. S(he) has had training in specialized procedures with emphasis on angiographic procedures and the related interventions. S(he) performs radiologic examinations utilizing standard and specialized views required during invasive procedures in accordance with the physician specifications.
Required Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology. Will consider current RCIS certification in lieu of education.
Required Experience: Adhere to Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)'s Code of Ethics Adhere to CCI's continuing education policy thirty-six (36) accredited continuing educational credits every three (3) years. Thirty (30) of these CEUs must be cardiovascular-related.
Required Certification & Licensures: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
Preferred Certification & Licensure: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, CPR Certified, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified.
Assesses quality of images and ensures imaging outcome assessment meets departmental standard. (collimation positioning exposure index marker placement artifact SID film adequacy)
Attends all mandatory meetings.
Completes all assigned procedures and all required documentation in MRM within an acceptable time frame.
Completes all unit-specific competencies.
Completes annual Competency Requirement for RCIS.
Completes annual Teamwork/Quality Requirement for RCIS.
Completes annual Customer Service Requirement for RCIS.
Demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to age spiritual and cultural needs of the patient.
Displays and promotes a positive public relations approach to coworker's physician's patients and public.
Ensures best results for patient's families here at Centra and self.
Ensures supplies are available stocked in appropriate areas.
Exercises the use of clear communication skills. Participates as an effective team member in support of Centra mission statement.
Exhibits flexibility in call and work schedule.
Identifies and resolves customer service issues. Observe wasting of narcotics/drugs with R.N.
Improve service and image quality by utilizing feedback from staff patients and supervisor.
Incorporates health education as an integral part of the unit practice in meeting the patient needs. Provides instruction to patients and families for procedures and post procedure care reinforcing pre-procedure instruction.
Maintains a personal and professional development plan and submits annually to Coordinator/Unit Manager.
Maintains confidentiality consistently to employees and patients.
May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.
