What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stretcher Van Operator - LGH/Full Time Days 6a-6p position at Centra Medical Group?
This position is responsible for providing routine non-medical transportation services for Centra Ground Transport under the direction of the Transport Supervisor(s) or designee. The Driver will be responsible for providing a safe and enriching experience for every individual from door to door. Driver will possess good communication skills. The Driver will perform pre & post vehicle safety inspections, follow scheduled transports, report & handle vehicle maintenance issues and communicate all participant/patient needs to immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia driver’s license
- Within six months of hire:
- VAVRS or VDFP EVOC (emergency vehicle operations course) level 2
- CPR First Aid
- PASS (Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity) training
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous experience in direct support, medical transport, nonmedical transport, stretcher van, or EMS experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing exceptional door to door care to all Centra patients.
- Entering safely into patient homes on a routine basis.
- Communicating all patient changes & needs to direct supervisor.
- Performing pre & post shift vehicle safety inspections, assuring vehicle is in proper operational condition and reporting any maintenance issues to relevant personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness of interior & exterior of Centra vehicle.
- Maintain all necessary records/documentation regarding participants/patients & vehicles.
- Transport patients who are ambulatory, wheelchair, and van stretcher.
- Communicating frequent changes to direct supervisor or Shift Lead.
- Ability to rapidly adapt to changes between van stretcher, wheelchair shuttle, mental health, and courtesy shuttle transports.
- Performs other reasonable duties as assigned.
