Integrated Behavioral Health Psychologist - Internal Medicine
In this position you will work as a psychologist in our Internal Medicine Clinic which are both located at the CentraCare Plaza. While working in Internal Medicine you’ll work with physicians who care for patients with common illnesses, preventive care needs, complex medical issues, and chronic or multiple diagnostic problems.
Position Details: Full time, 1.0 FTE, 80 hours/pay period. Monday -Friday from 8a-5p.
Job Details: Work collaboratively with CentraCare’s Behavioral Health team as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team at the Internal Medicine Clinic
- Provide diagnostic, psychological, or biopsychosocial evaluation and execute therapeutic treatment toward defined goals.
- Provide clinical interventions to include individual, marital, couples, family and group therapy & education to adults and children.
- Responsibilities as a IBH Psychologist in the IM & SGM Clinic include triaging urgent needs from community members and providing intervention in same day crisis situations.
- May assist in staff development through consultation, education, and supervision as well as assist in program development.
- Be part of our Integrated Behavioral Health Team providing outpatient diagnostic assessment, and treatment services for patients and families with behavioral health and/or medical needs.
- The psychologist works to strengthen motivation and commitment to specific change goals through a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication using motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy.
Education Required: PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology Required
Experience Required: Completion of post-doc training year must be completed prior to start date is preferred. Successful candidates will have training, experience, and interest in outpatient assessment, medical knowledge, crisis intervention skills, therapy and teamwork. Candidates must have knowledge and/or experience in Health Psychology.
Licensure Required: Licensure by the State of Minnesota Board of Psychology must be obtained within 18 months of employment. Licensure at the time of employment is preferred. Successful compliance with Minnesota Law, Chapter 372 relating to sexual exploitation of patients by staff providing psychotherapy services.
