Join the CentraCare team as a Palliative Care Registered Nurse.
The Palliative Care Registered Nurse acts as a coordinator and facilitator for the medical management of Palliative Care patients. The registered nurse is also responsible for supporting patient triage, coordinating care across the continuum (inpatient, outpatient, and community settings), and patient, family, and staff education. Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities. This role works primarily in the outpatient setting but will support patients on our inpatient service that are transitioning to our outpatient services.
Schedule:
- Part Time | 48 hours every 2 weeks
- Wednesday through Friday 8 am-4:30 pm
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay range $38.77-$58.16per hour based on years of experience

Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy required.
- Willingness to obtain certification in palliative care nursing within 2 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of palliative care or hospice experience.
- Experience facilitating advance care planning conversations.
- Demonstrated experience with patients with serious illnesses, patient assessments, and symptom management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss sensitive end-of-life issues.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to triage competing priorities.
