What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Health Care Intern position at CentraCare?
Experience the summer of a lifetime at Rice Memorial Hospital and CentraCare Clinic! You will get the opportunity to immerse yourself into healthcare and learn about a variety of ways in which patients receive care! This internship will last 10 weeks and will consist of rotations in multiple departments such as: Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Imaging, Laboratory, Surgery and Radiation Oncology!
The Summer Health Care Internship willl bring students and health care employers together to provide students experience in a health care environment and employers the opportunity to meet future health care professionals. Duties may involve assisting with registering/scheduling, cleaning/sterilizing instruments, cleaning/restocking and preparing exam rooms, transporting patients, clerical duties, in addition to observation within the departments.
Schedule:
- Full-time | 60-80 hours every two weeks
- Day shift | Hours typically 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | Monday - Friday
- Evenings and Weekends possible for additional opportunities
- This is a temporary position that is anticipated to last through August 2025.
Pay & Benefits:
- Flat Rate: $16.48

Qualifications:
- Must currently be in your junior or senior year of high school and intend to complete graduation requirements or
- Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a Minnesota educational institution or
- A resident of Minnesota enrolled in an out-of-state program
- Post-secondary students must be enrolled, but not graduating in 2025, in a two-or four-year health care degree program, with the intention of completing the program
