Salary: $14.00/hr commensurate with experience calendar for 24- 25 school year.
Job Function:
The Day Custodian, under the general supervision of the Facilities Services Coordinator, performs and maintains the overall appearance, cleanliness, safety and security of the office assigned. General maintenance work with moderate latitude for exercising individual knowledge and technical skill.
Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Facilities Services Coordinator
Custodial Duties:
• Empties trash receptacles in every office daily.
• Deposits trash in the dumpsters daily.
• Vacuums or sweeps every floor in every office daily.
• Vacuums or sweeps all common areas of the building daily.
• Cleans bathrooms (includes toilets, sinks, and floors) daily.
• Stocks all paper products daily.
• Provides emergency clean up services daily.
• Assists with setting up for arrival/dismissal daily.
• Cleans outside hallways and around the building daily.
• Mops all floors weekly or as needed.
• Cleans desks and table tops weekly or as needed.
• Cleans glass windows and doors in the entryway of the offices weekly or as needed.
• Buffs and waxes floors and shampoos carpets as assigned.
• Moves furniture as assigned.
• Painting as assigned.
• May perform electrical work, replacing fluorescent fixtures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment (e.g., cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuums, mops, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items required to properly maintain the facility.
• Receives and distributes office supplies in an efficient and timely manner.
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Facilities Services Coordinator or Superintendent.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays and weekends as needed; be on call for snow removal and other weather-related concerns.
• Ability and/or willingness to learn to use and understand Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, letters and other written communication in order to effectively communicate information with employees, administration and the Board.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
• Two years of experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely is required.
• Ability to perform general maintenance tasks as needed.
