Job Description
The School Psychologist Intern will gain hands-on experience in providing psychological services across a diverse school division. Under the supervision of licensed school psychologists, the intern will support students, staff, and families by addressing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. This is a paid position designed to offer practical experience in a dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with school psychologist and multidisciplinary teams to assess and support students’ needs.
• Conduct psychoeducational assessments and assist in writing comprehensive evaluation reports.
• Participate in developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
• Provide short-term individual or group counseling to students.
• Support crisis intervention and behavioral consultations as needed.
• Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and creating behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Engage in school-wide initiatives, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and social-emotional learning (SEL) programs.
• Attend and participate in parent-teacher conferences, team meetings, and staff professional development.
• Travel between schools within the division as needed to provide services.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a graduate program for School Psychology.
• Completion of coursework in assessment, counseling, and intervention strategies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and age groups.
• Reliable transportation to travel to multiple schools within the division.
