Job Summary
We are a fast-paced, high volume, multi-specialty practice in Mesa, AZ seeking an experienced Medical Records Specialist to join our growing team! This full-time position provides direct support to our healthcare operations through gathering, sorting, organizing, and routing of electronic health records. The candidate is heavily relied on to provide accurate and prompt information to our departments as well as external parties.
Duties
- Review and process requests for release of information with adherence to internal policies and state and federal regulations
- Ensure complete and accurate electronic medical records in preparation for appointments
- Identify and scan medical records into electronic health record system (NextGen)
- Route correspondence to referring providers
- Answer incoming and make outgoing calls relating to medical records
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication and record management.
- Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) software is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
