About the Responsibilities
As a Cloud Security Architect, you will provide technical thought leadership and guidance for technology teams on all matters related to cloud security from strategy to implementation. This critical role will report to the Enterprise Security Manager and partner with leaders across the business to develop and deliver solutions that meet requirements, support business strategies, and protect Central Arizona Project’s property and data, and ensure all cloud security tools (Azure, AWS, OCI, and SaaS) are in-scope as well as numerous best of breed technologies to fortify the layers of defense to ensure a secure enterprise with repeatable/automated processes that align with modern methodologies and best practices.
Some of the specific duties include:
Designing security services in cloud-based programs based on pre-defined architecture frameworks and risk appropriate controls.
Collaborate with stakeholders, software architects, and DevOps teams to design and implement security solutions in Microsoft Azure, AWS. and OCI.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, and regular security testing.
Develop and maintain comprehensive diagrams and updated system documentation of the organization's cloud infrastructures, applications, and data flows.
Lead threat modelling and risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and execute strategies to mitigate and address these risks.
Evaluate and recommend security tools, technologies, and services that enhance our cloud security posture.
Stay up to date with emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously enhance our security strategies.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with a technology-based emphasis plus ten (10) years relevant experience OR Associates Degree with 12 years’ experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 14 years’ experience.
- Experience in either cloud computing or IT security recommending software and other tools to protect company assets and conducting tests and analysis of procedures and systems to prepare for emergencies.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential, including the capture and mapping of the relationships between architecture components.
- Ability to collaborate with various teams while managing multiple projects at once.
Required Certifications or Licenses (one or more of the following):
Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, or Amazon Web Services Certified Security.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for cloud-based systems, including IAM, network security, data protection, DevSecOps and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate with various teams to develop policies and procedures.
