(4-10 work schedule M-Th 7am - 5:30pm) Some flexibility with scheduled hours. May have the opportunity for one day a week remote work (conditions apply).
The purpose of this internship is for an individual to participate in the Information Technology Division’s responsibility to manage CAP's computer systems, application support and development, network infrastructure and cybersecurity. In addition, the internship will provide opportunities to work with a broad range of specialists within Information Technology, assist with day-to-day operations within Service and Support and complete a project within Information Technology providing a solution to an IT problem or enhancement to a system or process.
1. Maintains first level support of all IT systems, including PCs, laptops, operating systems, hardware, software, network equipment (connectivity, wireless setup), printers, copiers, scanners, faxes, cell phones, and peripheral devices.
2. Provides technical, entry level support to clients, both in person and remotely to troubleshoot problems and resolve simple computer hardware problems, application issues and network related problems. Provides client training as needed to allow effective use of hardware and applications. Assists clients with "how to" questions regarding the use of computer applications and hardware.
3. Installs computer applications as directed which require mid-range computer network and/or Windows servers and personal computer interoperability. Obtains application training as needed to accomplish this.
4. Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software problems under leadership and direct supervision of more senior helpdesk staff.
5. Assists in testing new hardware and software according to established test guidelines prior to implementation into the production environment.
6. Assists in configuration, troubleshooting and client setup for mobile devices to access the CAP VPN from remote environments.
7. Adheres to CAP strategies and standards to maintain the stability of computer and network platforms.
8. Maintains documentation of computer configurations, software licensing and hardware status.
