The Mid-Level IT System Administrator working out of our Mesa, AZ office will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and workstations. This position involves troubleshooting, system updates, security management, backup operations, and ensuring overall reliability of IT environment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of network administration, server management, and user support with a focus on optimizing system performance for daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers (physical & virtual), operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud-based services.
- Ensure high availability and performance of key systems, including backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Install, configure, maintain hardware & software, ensuring system optimization, including security patches and system updates.
- Configure and manage network infrastructure & security, ensuring data security best practices.
- Create & maintain system administration related PowerShell scripts.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide IT technical support for end-users, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Assist with onboarding new employees to ensure proper IT resources are accessible.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for system configurations, network architecture, and IT procedures.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT-related tasks.
- Provide regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with the IT team & other departments to identify & implement technological solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT/MIT, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years’ experience in IT systems administration in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools, as well as networking protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services and solutions (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- Strong scripting & PowerShell skills.
- Hands-on experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
- Experience with database management systems (SQL, MySQL, etc.) and web server management.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 40lbs.
- Occasional on-call or after-hours work to resolve critical system issues.
- Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; ability to work independently or part of a team.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network or Security certification.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar networking certification.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar virtualization certification.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
