What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Lender position at Central Bancompany?
Under the direction of the Commercial Loan Manager, originate a wide variety of commercial loans. Develop strong relationships with existing and potential commercial loan customers. Attend to the needs of customers seeking loans. Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
Originate commercial loans.
Provide services for commercial loans under the guidelines Jefferson Bank's loan policy including but not limited to: Interview applicants to develop information concerning their business, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine their availability for a loan; Collecting and analyzing financial and related data to determine general creditworthiness; Rejecting or approving loans and terms within officers' limits and established Bank policies; Monitoring loan repayment activities and taking necessary action to collect from past-due accounts.
Monitor an existing commercial loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
Responsible for aggressively soliciting and servicing prospective customers producing a variety of commercial loans as well as generating and managing a portfolio of business and corresponding relationships, while seeking new accounts through calling efforts, marketing, and referrals.
Establish and maintain internal relationships within the Bank to facilitate an effective referral program.
Maintain required subject expertise including product knowledge, general organization practices, policies and procedures applicable to product lines and services; including but not limited to SBA loans, USDA loans, MO Linked Deposit Loan Program and rate swaps (PCBB).
Establish and maintain good public relations with the community to enhance the Bank's image and develop new business.
Collaborate with other business development areas to promote cross-sell opportunities.
Maintain an active pipeline of prospects through contact and follow-ups to ensure all needs are being met throughout the sales cycle.
Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all bank products & services.
Assist with the marketing and sale of bank ORE.
Daily review, approval and disposition of commercial overdrafts.
Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority with the bank as required.
Support the bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops and involvement in professional, civic, and community groups in leadership positions.
Contribute to the effort of the Bank by performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics, MBA preferred. Formal credit training.
Minimum 5 years of commercial lending experience with an established portfolio.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Sound judgment.
PC proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proven track record in working with all levels of senior management.
Strong computer software knowledge of and skills and experience with word processing and spreadsheet software, preferably Word and Excel.
Good verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact both face-to-face and over the telephone with examiners, consultants, auditors, customers and co-workers.
