What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Lending Assistant position at Central Bancompany?
Supports assigned loan officers and serves as a contact point for all parties, including Loan Officers, customers, processors, underwriters, and outside agencies/vendors.
Processes loan applications within designated time frames and updates the loan origination system daily to ensure accuracy of reporting loan status.
Prepares loan estimates for mortgage loan in compliance with state and federal banking regulations.
Requests appraisals, payoffs, inspections, mortgage insurance and any other items needed through the appropriate vendors.
Gathers necessary documents to process loans and performs an initial review to determine likelihood of approval by analyzing credit, capacity and collateral.
Reviews residential loan documentation regarding borrower employment, assets and liabilities to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Takes initiative to solve problems that arise regarding title insurance, homeowner's insurance, escrow discrepancies, tax issues, billing and payment posting.
Ensures the correct documents have been prepared and signed in order to perfect the Bank's lien.
Delivers a complete file to underwriting and closing by ensuring all conditions are cleared in a timely manner.
Ensures all needed information is gathered and correct in order to guarantee commitment and closing dates are met.
Prepares loan documentation to ensure loans are correctly booked on system and funds are properly applied to the correct general ledger accounts.
Maintains a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) Unique Identifier National Mortgage Lending System.
Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for using Fourteen Standards of Service daily with internal and external customers.
Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to teller and customer service areas (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, Regulations CC, E, DD, P, etc.) evidenced by appropriate applications of these relations in day-to-day operations.
Acquires and maintains thorough understanding of security procedures; practice established procedures.
Understand role in case of robbery, whether a victim or bystander, and know proper post-robbery.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Prior general office and loan experience preferred.

Ability and desire to work as part of a team and with people of diverse backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to drive a vehicle.
Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
Ability to meet and maintain MLO status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements.
Ability to attend meetings and other functions outside of normal banking hours and outside of Bentonville area.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in administrative and client issues, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills.
