What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Retail Banking position at Central Bank?
Responsible for the strategic management and growth of the Retail Division. Scope of responsibilities typically include branch operations, sales and service of Retail products, marketing, Retail training, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsible for overseeing the success of the Retail banking function, including sales and financial goal achievement, bank deposit growth, product and service pricing/profitability, staffing and productivity, employee management, employee and customer retention, meeting budget goals, and contributing to the overall success of Retail department. Responsible for branch expansion plans including market studies, site selection, staffing, contractor management, etc. Maintains the necessary working knowledge to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Manages all aspects of Retail banking including personnel, sales, service, operational efficiency, product development, technology, and compliance.
Executes Retail strategies through consistent and proactive leadership, coaching, planning and sales management.
Monitors current trends in the banking industry and assesses market conditions to implement Retail banking strategy and sustain the Bank’s competitive edge.
Develops and executes a strategy to achieve goals in terms of deposit growth and cost of funds.
Develops and recommends plans for expansion of programs, operations, and financial activities.
Creates annual budget and periodic reforecasts for deposit balances, fee income, and operating expenses.
Oversees performance of subordinate managers in the area of sales achievement, business development, and personnel management/development.
Manages deposit growth through deposit pricing, product development and management of promotional products offered.
Oversees the work of the Marketing Director and marketing department, reviewing, approving, or obtaining approval for major campaigns and budget expenditures.
Oversees the work of the Deposit Operations Department through regular collaboration with the Deposit Operations Manager.
Participates in community organizations/activities/events.
Enhances the image and protects the reputation of the Bank.
Responsible for overall operational soundness, compliance, and security of branch locations.
Ensures response to and implementation of changes driven by audits of all departments of the Retail division.
Communicates matters of potential audit or compliance risk to President & CEO.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
12-15 years’ progressive bank management experience, with specific emphasis in Retail banking, administration, and operations
