What are the responsibilities and job description for the Review and Support Technician (full-time), Deposit Services position at Central Bank?
FULL-TIME HOURLY: These employees work from 30 to 40 hours each week and are paid on an hourly basis. They are eligible for the same benefits as salaried employees and paid time off is paid at 8 hours per day.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs various reviews, research and maintenance, and provides support to the department and other areas of the Bank within areas of responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED
- One-year related bank experience
- Excel, Word, and Windows experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, negotiation, problem solving, and analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask while working under multiple deadlines
- Good computer/typing skills
- Knowledge of CIF/Deposit systems and related inquiries
- Proven record of teamwork and cooperation
- Effective customer service skills
- Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, dependable
- Employees who do not have a current Product Knowledge score of 85% must pass the Product Knowledge Exam before being allowed to interview
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completes review of special items for high dollar transactions and multiple signature requirements. Ensures items meet signature requirements, verifies endorsements and check details. Notifies account officers of any discrepancies and obtains proper approval for payment or return of items.
2. Coordinates with the Exception Item Technicians to process identified returned items.
3. Verifies account maintenance completed including but not necessarily limited to the following: address changes, transfer maintenance, account conversions, deceased customers, storage boxes, and guaranteed checking. Checks for accuracy and conformance with standards and appropriate regulations set by banking rules/regulations and bank policy.
4. Collaborates with the CIF Technician on account maintenance including but not limited to return mail, closeouts, new account maintenance, and misc. maintenance. Verifies requests conform to standards and appropriate regulations set by banking regulations and bank policy.
5. Researches and resolves any errors or irregularities by contacting banking center managers and staff or other sources of input to insure the customer’s accounts are processed accurately.
6. Provides feedback identifying problems and exceptions on copies of source documentation to Deposit Services Managers, Retail Administration and other managers related to data and information generated by their respective areas so that training issues may be identified and resolved, as well as ensuring that proper corrections are made to the information entered on the system.
7. Assists staff with inquiries related to proper system setup for unusual situations, including those related to new account processing and title changes. Confers with supervisor as needed to ensure instruction conforms to bank policy.
8. Provides technical, product and regulatory support to retail staff and other areas of the bank.
9. If applicant does not have a current score they must take and pass the Product Knowledge exam within 90 days of starting the position.
10. Maintains compliance with banking regulations, policies and best practices.
11. Completes cross training as time permits to provide support to all department staff members and assist with planned and unplanned staff absences.
12. Serves as back up for Quality Review Technician, CIF maintenance and ACH technician and other areas for planned and unplanned staff absences.
13. Maintains and updates procedures as necessary for use when training and cross training new and current coworkers.
14. Collects and keys volumes for volume tracking reports and/or compliance.
15. Reviews and maintains the Maintenance Audit Completeness. This completeness is to be done weekly and is monitored quarterly.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
