Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Financial Aid Services Coordinator will be responsible for managing front desk services and scholarship services as well as assisting the director with management of daily office functions. They will also help with maintaining student files, computer records, collecting documents. They will be required to participate in institutional, state and federal Financial Aid trainings in order to become familiar with the overall financial aid process. Attention to details is very important. They will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Financial Aid.
Tasks
Answer phones
Greet students
Manage Financial Aid incoming email, faxes, and student documents
Communicate with students about needed documents
Enter financial aid data in campus systems
Serve as outside scholarship coordinator
Research available scholarships
Keep up-to-date scholarship info on hand for students
Advise students of scholarship opportunities in person and via web and CBC social media.
Serve as office coordinator
Coordinate student traffic
Coordinate document flow
Assist director with overseeing staff workloads/assignments
Supervise volunteers and/or student workers
Serve as assistant financial aid counselor
Package student aid as time allows
Counsel students about available aid options
Assist students with steps to completing all required paperwork
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Financial Aid experience preferred, but not required.
Must have great attention to detail.
Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude.
Qualifications / Education
- Minimum of 2 years of college successfully completed.
