Summary (Reception): Looking for an outgoing, creative, and sales-oriented individual with strong administrative and organizational skills who will be responsible for following up on leads, answering phones, creating email and text marketing campaigns, scheduling appointments, talking with customers, building customer relationships, administrating social media content and management, maintaining and updating store’s internal and external documentation electronically, assist in coordinating and developing outreach events and networking opportunities, and taking ownership of retail area by increasing its overall revenue to the store’s bottom line.
Applicant must be willing to be cross-trained on Dog Handling Role. MUST love dogs.
Summary (Dog Handling): Approximately 60% of your time will be standing on your feet supervising play groups, 20% will be crating, feeding and bringing dogs to and from owners, and the remaining 20% is spent on general cleaning of the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Reception:
· Works regular scheduled store shifts
· Works with managers in coordinating the development and implementation of both short- and long-term marketing strategies and promotions to enhance existing business, increase market awareness, support the image and branding strategy and build brand loyalty.
· Remains current on new business, marketing, and industry trends.
· Supports manager to maintain effective two-way communication systems, which cross departmental lines and reach all employees.
· Fully understands Central Bark’s science-based approach to Whole Dog Care to confidently explain it to new and existing customers.
· Create, maintain, and implement a complete annual editorial calendar that promotes all the services, knowledge, FAQs, events, and information Central Bark has to offer its customers.
· Design a complete drip campaign structure for following up on in-coming leads.
· Coordinates inventory levels in the retail area through the P.O.S. system and with store supplies and equipment per manager.
· With the support of the manager, accurately tracks customer journey in order to illustrate revenue generated by actions, systems, and strategies set forth by the customer experience representative.
· Boarding clients report cards
· Vaccination input
· Schedules appointments
· Social media upkeep: Daily group photos of dogs
· Clean and restock lobby
Dog Handling:
· Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the follow (other duties may be assigned):
· Caring for and supervising play groups of dogs & boarding dogs including, playing with dogs, brushing, petting, holding, crating, leashing, collaring, clothing (when jackets are needed), applying first aid, feeding, medicating, cleaning up after dogs, etc.
· Works as a team member with others and management in providing dog day care program and sleepover services.
· Helps to ensure that customer satisfaction is consistently obtained.
· Helps to support the efficient and effective operation of the facility.
· Helps to maintain the highest company standards in the delivery of all services.
· Is directly responsible for duties as assigned by management.
· Cleaning duties such as cleaning up dog waste, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, shoveling, cleaning crates and bathing dogs.
· Is directly responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times for the dogs in our care.
· Is directly responsible for providing and documenting the appropriate information about individual dogs under his/her supervision on the shift change report.
· Is responsible for reading and knowing all Company Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
· Education and/or Experience: Dog handling skills are preferred. Customer Service experience preferred. Training sessions and seminars may be scheduled during non-working hours where your attendance may be required.
· Physical Skills: Ability to perform a variety of demanding physical activities, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds (whether it is a bag of dog food, a crate or a dog), standing for long periods of time, and enduring outdoor temperatures. Grasping, pinching and pulling skills are also needed to leash and collar dogs as well as control them. Typing for extended periods of time is also required.
· Health: It is required that all staff are current on their Tetanus vaccination.
· Language Skills: Ability to verbally and in writing communicate effectively with customers and staff is a must. Customer Experience Reps must be able to read and write accurately. Ability to read dog information including names, medication and feeding instructions, schedules and the like.
· Mathematical Skills: Basic measuring and counting abilities as related to cleaning, medications, feedings or counting change back to customers.
· Computer Skills: Knowledge, understanding and experience with Windows-based applications are preferred. Prior experience in email marketing and social media management platforms is preferred.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, see opportunities, and analyze data as it relates to growing sales from both existing and potential customers. Ability to deal with customers and their complaints and either handle them or direct them to the appropriate channel (i.e. a manager) to find a solution to their problem. Ability analyze emergencies and think on your feet. Dogs can get into scuffles at any time and it is the employees’ job to keep everyone safe. Reading dog’s behavior and catching key indicators of possible conflict is a must to insure safety and well-being of the playgroup.
Flexible schedule preferred. Occasional Weekend/holiday work required. Pay based on experience.
Approximate shift times: (please do not apply if you are not available during these hours. Unfortunately, shift times are not flexible). We do not hire seasonal workers.
Tuesday-Friday 7AM-6:30PM
Occasional weekend or holiday shifts (hours would be deducted from the week schedule when working the weekend schedule)
7 AM-12 PM OR 6 AM-2 PM & 12 PM-6:45 PM OR 1:45 PM -6:45 PM
Sunday 7 AM-11 AM & 3 PM-7 PM
