Job Description: A enrichment specialist/dog handler would be primarily responsible for the care and handling of play groups. We operate 365 days a year and dog handlers are expected to work occasional weekends and holidays, however our busy times are weekdays Tuesday - Friday. Our open hours are from 6:30 am - 6:30 pm. Approximately 60% of your time will be standing on your feet supervising play groups, and cleaning up waste indoors and outdoors, 20% will be crating, feeding and bringing dogs to and from owners, and the remaining 20% is spent on general cleaning of the facility and crates.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Caring for and supervising play groups of dogs including working on group sits, recall, gate control, playing with the dogs, brushing, petting, holding, crating, leashing, collaring, clothing (when needed), applying first aid, feeding, medicating (per instructions from owners), cleaning up after dogs, etc.
- Work as a team member with other dog handlers and management in providing dog day care program and sleepover services.
- Help to ensure that customer satisfaction is consistently obtained. Help to support the efficient and effective operation of our facility. Help to maintain the highest company standards in the delivery of all services. Is directly responsible for duties as assigned by team leaders and management.
- Cleaning duties such as cleaning up dog waste, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, shoveling, cleaning crates, and bathing dogs.
- Is directly responsible for maintain a clean and safe environment at all times for our dogs. Is directly responsible for providing and documenting the appropriate information about individual dogs under his/her supervision on the shift change report.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Can lift 40 — 50 lbs. Must be punctual and on-time for all scheduled shifts. After school cleaners can start at 15 years of age.
Experience and/or Education: Dog handling Skills are preferred. Skills may be in the form of pet ownership, previous pet ownership, working with animals, and attending dog training and/or behavior seminars.

Starting Wage: $12.00 per hour.
