What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Principal of Teaching & Learning - Wahconah Regional High School position at Central Berkshire Regional School District?
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Master's degree
Certification in School Principal / Assistant Principal (9-12) Certifiable or Certified High School
Minimum of (5) years teaching experience at the high school level
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing education in Massachusetts
Knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices and programs at the 9-12 level
Stong Interpersonel and communication skills
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize
Ability to use data in the decision making process
Ability to supervise and oversee aspects of school management
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and activities
Assists the Prinicpal in providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching
Assists in coordinating all testing programs in the school
Assists the Prinicipal in supervising and evaluating personnel
Assists with the development and implementation of an effective staff development program
Support the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the Massachusetts Frameworks, varied assessments, and data analysis
Build strong relationships with classroom teachers, student support personnel, and administrators
Assists teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources
Advocate for equitable access to education and opportunities for all students
Supports teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction through research based practices on all levels
Implements and adheres to school committee policies, state statutes, and federal regulations as they pertain to the school
Facilitates the implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with school and system policy to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
Analyzes student performance data as a basis for curriculum improvements and staff development needs
Demonstrates initiative and proactive orientation for seeking solutions to problems and concerns
Prepares and oversees the preparation of required reports and maintain all appropriate records
Models and maintains high standards of professional conduct
Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide individuals and groups toward task accomplishments
Facilitates problem solving by individuals and groups
Counsels with parents and staff to resolve problems
Makes presentations to faculty, students, and parents as requested by the Principal
Collaborates with school personnel in planning and implementation of initiatives
Investigates student accidents and other incidents and takes appropriate action
Co-plans and participates in community engagement evenings
Additional responsibilities to be determined in collaboration with the building Principal
SALARY : Negotiable
