POSITION SUMMARY: (Please take note this is a Hybrid position) 

Utilize statistical methods to assess the impact of services on the aging The Data Analyst will develop reports and conduct data analyses to support teams in compliance, evaluation, quality assurance, and quality improvement.

Top Key Activities:

  • Develop new reports and dashboards based on the needs and input of program managers
  • Run routine weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports
  • Analyze data and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Create documentation so users can understand reports and how metrics are calculated
  • Develop processes and mechanisms for collecting and aggregating data for new projects or grants

Other Activities:

  • Respond to ad hoc data requests
  • Create presentations, charts, and graphs to share data
  • Follow-up with staff to complete required activities


  1. Data Collection and Management:
    • Gather data from various sources, including client databases, surveys, program records, and external demographic data relevant to the aging population.
    • Ensure data integrity by performing regular data audits and implementing data quality controls.
    • Maintain and update databases to support ongoing program evaluation and reporting needs.
  2. Data Analysis and Interpretation:
    • Analyze program outcomes, service utilization, and demographic trends to inform organizational strategies.
    • Identify patterns and insights that can enhance program effectiveness and client satisfaction. 
  1. Reporting:
    • Prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, funders, and regulatory agencies, including analysis of key performance indicators and outcomes.
    • Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
    • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals by providing data support and evidence of program success.
  2. Program Evaluation Support:
    • Collaborate with program managers to define evaluation metrics and data collection methodologies.
    • Support the design and implementation of evaluation tools, such as surveys and assessments.
    • Monitor and report on program performance against established goals and objectives.
  3. Compliance and Grant Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of data required for grant compliance and funding requirements.
    • Work closely with the Grants Manager to align data reporting with grant objectives and outcomes.
    • Assist in responding to data inquiries from funders and external partners.
  4. Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic planning and program development.
    • Stay informed about trends and best practices in aging services to inform data analysis and reporting.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including program staff, development, and leadership.
    • Present data findings in meetings and contribute to discussions on program improvement and strategic initiatives.
    • Train staff on data entry procedures and the importance of data accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Public Health, Gerontology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related role, preferably within a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
    • Experience working with data related to social services, public health, or the aging population is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Data Analysis Skills:
      • Proficiency in statistical software and tools such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Python.
      • Strong ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
    • Data Visualization:
      • Experience creating dashboards and visual reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
    • Technical Proficiency:
      • Knowledge of database management systems and SQL.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    • Attention to Detail:
      • Strong focus on data accuracy and quality assurance.
    • Communication Skills:
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to present data findings clearly to diverse audiences.
    • Organizational Skills:
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting the aging population and familiarity with aging services.
  • Experience in translating data into a narrative to tell a compelling story.
  • Experience with client management systems or databases used in social services (e.g., ETO, Apricot, or similar).
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and data privacy laws as they relate to client information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects frequently weighing up to 10 to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to travel to the community to perform visits at consumers’ homes.
  • Work requires regular standing, stooping, and bending.
